The club was formed by Peter Metcalfe and Tom Provoost in April 2007 when a handful of ACE enthusiasts got together in the north-west of England. At first it was intended to be a local club, but after talking to other ACE owners at railway exhibitions, it was agreed that a larger club could be formed. It was then that I spoke to Allen Levy regarding the forming of the club for ACE owners. Within a few minutes Allen was happy to give us permission to use ACE logo's and provide us with archive material. The club would be entirely independent of ACE Trains, but they would give us as much support and information on the progress of ACE Trains.
So in July 2007 the first newsletter was published, pocket size A5 format in colour with four issues each year, containing news from ACE, members reports and photo's, archive features, for sale and wanted section, technical tips and trade adverts. With members from all around Britain, Australia, France and Holland the club is growing at a steady rate
